Department of Homeland Security
DHS NPPD

  • OCIO: Contract to architect and build the NPPD site collection, as well as, coordinate NPPD sub-groups alignment and integration. Create and provide defined processes, document and train on best practices and create 3 levels of training. Work with DHS HQ in coordinating DHS wide SharePoint implementation. Lead SharePoint Users Group. Primary focus on information architecting for long-term growth.
  • NCSD: Works with NCSD to deploy a SharePoint multi-tiered executive task tracker application while coordinating with developers on an implementation solution, which will include the management and movement of documents and content in accordance with ERM standards.
  • IP: Solutions Architect and Developer for Homeland Security Information Network (HSIN) Critical Infrastructure (CI) web platform to allow collaboration between Federal, State, Local and tribal entities with public critical infrastructure companies to defend the security of the nation. Activities centered on extending SharePoint capabilities and solutions to meet customer needs in analytics, security, information architecture, mobility and collaboration.


DHS OPS: Contract to architect and build the Operations and Coordination site collection, as well as, coordinate OPS sub-groups alignment and integration. Primary focus is on re-architecting the navigation and information architecture of the site. Secondary focus on integration of MS Project Server into SharePoint environment for program management activities. Small projects include conversion of Access dBs’; into SharePoint, develop workflows in SharePoint Designer and develop InfoPath forms to handle SELC processes and documentation. Work with DHS HQ in coordinating DHS wide SharePoint implementation.

DHS Customs and Border Protection: Contract to architect &build a MOSS intranet site for the Customs and Border Protection – Workforce Development Division to create, view and manage key reporting for all of CBP training. Site includes integration with InfoPath (including forms server), custom workflow, custom ASPX pages and custom design (master page and page layouts).


DHS Management OCIO COS: Contract to architect and build a SharePoint site for the Chief of Staff for the OCIO. Performed customer engagement to directly extract business and technical requirements thereby defining a project execution plan that outlines the vision, architecture and detailed requirements. Lead internal IBM resources to execute to the project plan. Continually interfacing with senior leadership to gather additional business needs to expand on the existing contract and leverage new contract opportunities.


United States Department of Agriculture
USDA Foreign Agriculture Service (FAS): Contract with Procentrix Inc to develop a custom reporting application using MOSS.Technical Lead - Features include custom workflow, InfoPath forms development, custom xml coding in aspx pages and eAuthentication integration

Department of Health & Human Services (HHS)
Contract with Vangent to work on their HHS contract to customize Plumtree for the business workflow and collaboration needs. Provided portal best practices consulting, training and Plumtree configuration

Library of Congress
Contract to architect and build a new crs.gov website that is used by congress to access and request research reports used to create legislation. Main focus was on development and styling a training and events sub-site, custom pages for viewing list and BDC content and static page development.

Non-Profit

Dietel Partners
Developed a collaboration site using WSS 3.0 to facilitate the grant workflow process and collaboration with clients for a non-profit philanthropic organization providing grant-processing services.

American Red Cross
Provided SharePoint Program Management for a non-profit humanitarian organization providing relief to victims of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. Formulated and successfully executed a virtual business community initiative using Microsoft SharePoint (WSS 2.0) branded Neighborhoods that saves the organization approximately two million dollars annually, has 30K+ unique members and is used throughout every business line in the American Red Cross, including International. Neighborhoods started as a non-funded pilot that has now grown into an enterprise standard for conducting virtual business and fostering collaboration. Performed all front-end development activities to include requirements gathering, design(including site templates), development, testing, and deployment/implementation. Developed all training material and performed user training both in person and via WebEx. Managed two direct reports and four indirect reports. Partnered with line of business leaders to understand their needs and objectives & translate goals from the business into functional strategies that lead to product ideas/functions. Conducted In-house research to develop business strategies, success metrics, and market strategies. Developed/executed marketing campaigns to explore and identify opportunities to increase and optimize real business results while exploring software capabilities.

Provided Project Management for various projects that required following a product lifecycle from conception through implementation. Created and managed project documentation: business case, scope documents, schedule, project plan, test design, lessons learned, risk assessment, business requirements and gained signoff from business / department leaders. Developed a current resource capacity load model. Developed and implemented a uniform metrics process and presentation tool to manage the operational, customer service, and project metrics.


Commercial

Envision EMI
Contract to re-architect a MOSS intranet. Functioned as the information architect and designer for the new intranet. Analyzed current solution and proposed new product centric architecture versus organizational to maximize usefulness of the intranet. Re-branded the site look and feel and renamed it to Inside Envision. Worked with individual groups to map current content to new architecture.

NFR Security, Inc.
Provided product marketing management to an Intrusion Detection Software/Hardware security technology company that provides a comprehensive, integrated, intrusion detection system. Defined product requirements based on secondary research, marketing objectives, strategy, and messaging. Produced sales tools (data sheets, FAQs, sales presentations, and “Canned” demos). Determine product pricing and documented via price books. Performed advantage analysis identifying distinctive competences and positioning. Researched and reported on market trends from industry research that resulted in NFR changing strategic direction of product development saving millions in development and marketing costs

Best Software

Provided product management for the fixed asset software (FAS), which Included full development lifecycle from inception through launch of a limited edition of (FAS), fixed asset software and deployed to over 20,000 of our sister company’s customers. Results were an increase in sales of $44,000 within the first month. Performed primary and secondary research, defined requirements, managed and developed project plans, marketed to resellers, Developed and delivered training, Interfaced internally with engineering, marketing, operations, sales, and customer service. Educated Strategic Alliances by leveraging integration opportunities, holding PlaceWare demos of new product features, and providing product knowledge support.

Provided project management for several projects. Gathered and analyzed current Sales Lead Flow Process via informational interviews, observation, and covert observation. Presented findings and recommendations to senior management. Recommendations were implemented. Managed full development lifecycle for an Information Portal Project (www.fixedassetinfo.com) to gain exposure for sales through relationship marketing, increase lead generation, and foster relationship building. Responsible for design, content, search engine optimization, beta, promotions, and project schedule with timeline and milestones. Result: 100% increase in unique hits per month. Managed a Search Engine Optimization Project to increase the corporate website to rank in the top ten on search engines. Presented findings with recommendations to senior executive management; a Web task force team was formed to implement recommendations. Engineered an intranet website for the Product Management Department. Solely responsible for coding, design, and content. Increased cross-departmental efficiency and effectiveness for communication of product information.
